Beaches near Taichung: Daan Beach

By   October 1, 2013

First, you have to know, there’s very few beaches near Taichung, and there’s not easy to access (no bus, you have to search for it by car, during more than one hour from Taichung City).

Second, Daan’s Beach has been closed to public during 8 years, due to toxic reject in the sea (yeah, awesome…), and has been reopened recently. Hence, there’s no way you can find some hot spot around; the few building here are disused.

It actually looks like a ghost beach.
A grey sad ghost beach.

The water is way too warm and you can walk from 500km from the shore, the grey fine sand, it’s always very windy and you catch all this sand in the face.

There are some small grey crabs, but not nasty, they hide in the sand’s small holes.

Transition or sequence creates visual motion in landscape design. Anytime you
are considering changing your landscape, you must also thing about the structures that already
stand on your property. With its thick, glossy needles and dense, upward-reaching branches, the yew
is useful as both a shrub and tree.

I sent my mother in law a postcard a day while she went through radiation (not the same thing, I realize), which she said she really treasured and she kept all of them.

Ahaha, nope, no hotel, resort nor anything. It was indeed quite complicated to get there.
I wasn’t driving, few signs on the road, remoted place, nothing like a “normal” beach…
Actually it’s more a ghost place.
